The countdown calculation
The countdown is calculated by comparing today's date in your device's local timezone to the selected target date. The algorithm calculates the difference between the two dates in milliseconds, then divides by the number of milliseconds in a day:
Days Remaining = (Target Date Timestamp − Today's Timestamp) ÷ 86,400,000
The remaining months, weeks, and days are calculated using standard calendar logic, accounting for the varying lengths of the months crossed during the countdown period.
